Pat Dixon knows how to grow the party:
I began my leadership in the party as chair of the Travis County Libertarian Party in Austin, Texas. In 2004 I lead a petition drive to retain our party ballot access in Texas. This photo shows us turning in over 80,000 signatures to remain on the ballot. I became state chair, and since then we have recruited record numbers of candidates and our results in elections have been historic records. We have had an executive directory for 6 years and now have 2 full time staff. Our budget has grown along with our membership. In 2006 we had 173 candidates on the ballot, an all-time record. We are a successful state affiliate of the Libertarian Party.
At the national level, our membership has also grown during my term on the LNC. We are well poised for further growth.
